Impacts

NEED works across the region’s 16 Land-grant Universities to show the value and impact of Extension programs to individuals, families, businesses, and communities.

Developing Resilient, Sustainable, and Equitable Food Systems

The Northeast Region’s 12 states and the District of Columbia are working individually and collaboratively to develop resilient, sustainable and equitable food systems on the local, state, and
regional levels.

Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance

Cultivemos, the Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network (FRSAN) in the Northeast Region, uses a cohort model of network-building. Small cohorts of members work together to share and create new resources in their areas of interest and expertise. Cohorts include Farm Worker, Mental Health, Veterans, Legal, PFAS, Farm Communication and Cooperative Extension.

Workforce Development

Extension’s pesticide safety education programs help ensure that our communities and food sources remain healthy. Our food safety programs open the door for new and well established entrepreneurs to get creative in their kitchens, feed their neighbors, and even start small businesses. Vaccination Education

Northeast Extension professionals have had measurable impact on individuals’ understanding of COVID and non-COVID related vaccination programs.
