Northeast Regional Association of State Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (NERA)
“NERA is a formal coalition of Directors of fourteen state agricultural experiment stations (SAES) in the northeast US. The northeastern SAES are primarily located on the campuses of the region’s thirteen Land-grant Universities with the exception of Connecticut, which houses stations in both New Haven and Storrs. All these stations contribute to a nationwide research system dedicated to meeting the global challenges associated with agriculture, food systems, natural resources, and human nutrition by offering the best available science.”
Extension Disaster Education Network
The Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) has become the venue for professionals throughout Extension system to:
- Connect with others doing disaster work in Extension
- Attend disaster education meetings, workshops, and webinars
- Reach out to Extension colleagues when Help is needed
- Help Extension in neighboring states and regions when disaster strikes
Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development
“The Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development is dedicated to providing research-based information that helps create regional prosperity through entrepreneurial and cluster-based innovation, while assuring balanced uses of natural resources in livable communities in the northeastern United States. ”
Northeast Regional Aquaculture Center
The Northeastern Regional Aquaculture Center (NRAC), headquartered at University of Maryland, College Park, is one of five Regional Aquaculture Centers established by the U. S. Congress for the United States. Funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture at an annual level of approximately $700,000, and representing 12 states and the District of Columbia, NRAC develops and sponsors cooperative regional research and extension projects in support of the aquaculture industry in the northeastern United States.
Northeast Extension Risk Management Education Center
“The Northeast Extension Risk Management Education Center was established in 2001, and is located at the University of Delaware. It is funded through the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), and is one of four regional Extension Risk Management Education Centers located throughout the country. “
The mission of the Northeast Center and the national program is educating America’s farmers and ranchers to manage the unique risks of producing food for the world’s table.
Northeast Integrated Pest Management Center
“The Northeastern IPM Center fosters the development and adoption of integrated pest management, a science-based approach to dealing with pests—one that provides economic, environmental, and human health benefits. We engage with stakeholders in agricultural, urban, and rural settings who work with us to identify and address regional priorities, whether for research, education, or outreach.”
