Background: The USDA is seeking input from stakeholders through August 1, 2020 on Agricultural Innovation, part of the USDA’s Agriculture Innovation Agenda. Using input provided, USDA/REE will identify common themes to inform research and innovation efforts in the Department, the broader public-sector, and the private sector.
Opportunity: NEED and NERA, with technical support from eXtension, are hosting a virtual listening session July 14th 2020; 10:00am-12:00pm ET to capture northeast Extension and Ag Research perspectives. Invited to attend are college deans, Cooperative Extension and AES directors, or associate directors, and institutional scientists. Details and important links are included in the invitation attached. Please share broadly.
Registration is not required. If you wish to attend, please mark your calendars and send a note to Rick Rhodes [email protected] and Ali Mitchell [email protected] to receive connection details.
Next Steps: NEED and NERA will use input to develop a regional response and will submit that response to the USDA through the Federal eRulemaking Portal. We will also make the response available to all member institutions to adapt and submit to amplify the messages as appropriate.
